Digital vs offset printing: which is cheaper for your order?

"Why is 100 flyers more expensive per piece than 2,000?" Because of how the two printing methods work.

Digital printing

Prints straight from the file — no plates, no setup. The cost per piece stays about the same whether you print 10 or 300. Best for: short runs, rush jobs, and personalized prints (different names per piece).

Offset printing

Uses metal plates and ink rollers. Setup costs more, but after that each copy is very cheap. Best for: 1,000 pieces and up — flyers, brochures, forms and letterheads — with very consistent colour.

Where is the break-even?

For a typical A5 full-colour flyer, offset usually becomes cheaper somewhere between 500 and 1,000 pieces. It depends on paper and colours, so ask us to quote both — we will recommend whichever saves you more.
